Rotary Youth leadership Awards (RYLA) is a programme for young people which, was officially adopted by Rotary International in 1971: The objective of the camp RYLA project can be expressed by the 6Cs- Commitment, communication, character, competition, confidence, courage. All of which are basic requirements for strong, imaginative, involved leadership. The RYLA week for girls is designed to develop the leadership qualities by providing an intensive and challenging programme, with all girls taking the lead at some point during the week. The RYLA week for boys follows the same programme. In 2007 Heather Turnball and Richard Core from S6 attended this course and gave it their stamp of approval. |
