Meldrum Academy

Pupils have the opportunity to participate in the Caledonian Junior, Bronze and Silver Award.

Caledonian Junior Award

This is an award for young people based on the 5-14 curriculum and Citizenship. The emphasis is based on effort rather than achievement. There is no residential component for this award.

Pupils are required to complete four out of the following five sections:

  • Caring and sharing
  • Communications
  • Movement
  • Creative activities
  • Environment

Caledonian Bronze and Silver Awards

Pupils are required to complete one project on each of the following areas:

  • Service (i.e.: public services, care in the community, fundraising,...)
  • Skills (i.e.: independant travel, money skills, photography, crafts,...)
  • Physical/Recreational (i.e.: Boccia, riding/RDA, any other sports...)

Pupils are also required to complete a residential component for both the Bronze and Silver award. The Bronze Award requires a 1 night/2 day residential. The Silver Award requires a 2 night/3day residential.
