In S1, the RMPS element of the curriculum is integrated with the other three social subjects.

All pupils will follow the same Social Subjects curriculum over four periods a week for the whole year. During this time, pupils will look at different topics within set themes, studying them from integrated geography, history, modern studies, and RMPS perspectives.

Examples of some of the themes pupils will study are:

• Core Skills in Social Subjects
• Working and Living in Scotland
• The Environment

Within each of these broad themes, pupils will look at focused topics (e.g. Belief in Scotland or Farming) for a few weeks each.
