During S3 and S4 pupils follow RMPS as part of their core curriculum. We value the core RMPS experience as an opportunity for pupils to actively use and develop their thinking skills, and to engage in open debate about prominent moral and social issues.

Our aim over these two years is to help pupils build informed opinions and the skills necessary to justify them, as well as highlighting the importance of mutual respect even where opinions differ!

During this time pupils have the opportunity to gain an SQA Intermediate 1 or Intermediate 2 unit qualification for the unit A World of Values. The assessments for this unit are completed internally during class time. There will be no RMPS exam at the end of S4.

The assessed content for the SQA Intermediate 1/2 unit is as follows:

In S3	Introduction to Morality	Capital Punishment
In S4	Abortion	Racial Prejudice

Pupils need to pass all learning outcomes in order to gain the SQA unit certificate for this course.
