Mr Lothian, Mr McCallum, Mrs Tevendale and Miss van den Hoven work within the SEN provision. Here, the link is established between pupils who access the SEN provision and their mainstream classes.

Not all pupils initially access the curriculum in a mainstream setting. Within Connections, pupils are provided with an opportunity to build and consolidate the basic skills necessary to move into a mainstream class.

Although we focus mainly on literacy and numeracy, we draw in topics from all curricular areas across the school. Pupils also have the opportunity to participate in Caledonian Award Scheme, ASDAN Awards and RDA (Riding for the Disabled).

At lunch time, pupils can access classroom R105 in Connections. Here, in relative peace and quiet, they can have their lunch, play boardgames or even bowls!

In addition to excursions related to the Caledonian and ASDAN Award Schemes, we feel that it is important that pupils also take part in group activites outside the school. We have been fortunate to be able to take groups of pupils on a number of extra curricular trips. These include: Archeolink, Grampian Transport Museum (Alford), "tubing" at Alford dry ski slope and most recently a Christmas fun day at the Aberdeen Leisure Centre.
